The AFL is today expected to announce the first month of the re-formatted 2020 AFL fixture.

But luckily for fans, the round two fixture has been released in full ahead of the announcement.

As had long been touted, Collingwood will open the season resumption in a blockbuster clash against the reigning premiers Richmond on a Thursday night, while Geelong will host Hawthorn.

The Cats will welcome Hawthorn down the highway to GMHBA Stadium, this move is really big win for the Cats who are attempting to host all their home games this season at their home ground.

Brisbane will face Fremantle and The Gold Coast will take-on the Eagles, all four teams are based out of Queensland allowing them to avoid travelling.

The showdown will go ahead in South Australia after four AFL umpires volunteered to quarantine for two weeks so they could officiate the contest.
