Every year there seems to be some sort of strange call made regarding the best and fairest winners. For example, this year Brownlow medallist Lachie Neale wasn't awarded the Merrett-Murray Medal, instead, that honour went to Harris Andrews.
Whilst fans may have an opinion on who they deem to be the best and fairest at a club, the award is often the best judge of a player's qualities as it's decided internally.

10. Harris Andrews
Brisbane's ultimate defender Harris Andrews was named club best and fairest despite teammate Lachie Neale taking home the Brownlow.
Andrews has been one of the best defenders in the competition for years and in 2023 he was finally rewarded with the Lions' first Grand Final appearance since 2004.
Known as one of the premier one-on-one defenders in the competition besides possibly Tom Barrass, Andrews was once again a shining light down back.
In a relatively undersized back six, Andrews was rarely beaten and proved his worth all year.
