Overview

Tom McCartin is the brother of former No.1 draft pick and current St Kilda forward Patrick. He is only eligible for the draft by two days and will still be in year 12 next year.

He has been likened to St Kilda champion Nick Riewoldt with his excellent mobility, agility, endurance (21.5 in the yo-yo test) and strength overhead but will need to improve his goal kicking to become a real force on the ground.

Uncharacteristically for a tall forward, he is agile and clean below his knees but also has enough strength in his legs to record an impressive 88cm in the running vertical jump test.

McCartin is a long-term prospect and with school, he is unlikely to debut next year if he is selected in the draft.
