2024 AFLW All-Australian squad announced

Two stars are in the hunt for a historic selection.

The AFLW All-Australian squad for 2024 has been revealed, with 42 players named in contention for a place in the exclusive side.

This year's squad features a blend of seasoned veterans, fresh faces, and rising stars, all vying for selection ahead of the final announcement at the AFLW Awards on November 25.

Among the standout names in the squad are two of the competition's most decorated players: Jasmine Garner and Ebony Marinoff, who are both in the running for their seventh All-Australian selection.

Garner, the North Melbourne midfielder, and Marinoff, the Adelaide Crows powerhouse, continue to set the standard in AFLW, and both players have been integral to their teams' successes in 2024.

As the 2024 McClelland Trophy winners, Hawthorn has set a new benchmark, leading all clubs with six players named in the squad.

This includes some standout performances from Aine McDonagh, Jenna Richardson, and Lucy Wales, with the Hawks making their mark in only their third season in the competition.

Not far behind, Adelaide Crows, Brisbane Lions, and North Melbourne each received five nominations, reinforcing the strength of their line-ups. The Crows, in particular, boast several seasoned stars, including Ebony Marinoff and Chelsea Randall, alongside exciting talents like Danielle Ponter and Caitlin Gould.

This year's squad also celebrates the next generation of AFLW stars. Shineah Goody (Port Adelaide) and Matilda Scholz (Port Adelaide) have been named among the 42-player list after impressive seasons that earned them nominations for the 2024 Telstra AFLW Rising Star award.

The pair, both just 19 years old, are among the youngest players in the squad, alongside Ella Roberts of the West Coast Eagles.

The squad also features a host of players earning their maiden All-Australian nomination, with 21 players vying for their first-ever selection.

Some of these include Mim Strom (Fremantle), Isabel Dawes (Brisbane), Alice O'Loughlin (North Melbourne), and Sofia Hurley (Sydney Swans), all of whom have been standout performers in the 2024 season.

The list also includes 12 players looking to earn back-to-back All-Australian honours, such as Monique Conti (Richmond), Breanna Koenen (Brisbane Lions), and Emma O'Driscoll (Fremantle), whose consistency over the past few seasons has seen them continue to shine on the national stage.

Notably absent from the squad are Collingwood, GWS GIANTS, and Western Bulldogs, who did not have any players named in the initial 42-player list.

The final 21-player team, including a captain and vice-captain, will be announced at the Awards night on November 25.
