Werribee captain Dom Brew has claimed the J.J. Liston Trophy as the VFL's best player, with Western Bulldogs ace Dom Carbone claiming the Lambert-Pearce Medal at the 2024 VFL and VFLW Awards night.

Brew polled a staggering 31 votes to take out the title with a gap of nine votes over second place, which Gold Coast's Rory Atkins claimed.

The Werribee onballer, who averaged 28.8 disposals, 17.6 contested possessions, 9.9 clearances, 9.4 tackles and 5.5 inside 50s per game for the minor premiers this season, fell one vote shy of Michael Frost's record.

Brew polled in 14 of his 18 appearances this season, with seven of those matches seeing home judged best-afield.

Atkins polled 22 votes to take a spot on the podium, while Southport's Boyd Woodcock rounded out the top three with 20 votes after another stellar season with the Sharks.

Carbone won the Lambert-Pearce Medal by three votes over Essendon's El Chaston and Box Hill's Tamara Luke, becoming the first Western Bulldogs player to claim the honour.

Carbone averaged 18.4 disposals, 5.1 tackles and 4.4 clearances in the Dogs' midfield as the club managed a grand final finish.

Darebin's Ange Gogos won the VFLW Coaches MVP, while Brew claimed the Men's title.

Richmond forward Sam Davidson claimed the 2024 Fothergill-Round-Mitchell Medal as the competition's best young player, taking out the honour ahead of finalists Riley Bice (Werribee), Cooper Craig-Peters (Footscray Bulldogs), Flynn Gentile (Coburg) and George Grey (Frankston).

Famously, the past 17 winners of the award have gone one to be recruited by and play for an AFL club at the top level.

Western Bulldogs ruck Keeley Hardingham claimed the Debbie Lee Medal as the VFLW's rising star, adding to her VFLW Team of the Year selection in what was a decorated night for the Dogs.
