The VFL finals began over the weekend as the competition once again trialled the wildcard round.
The top six sides spent the weekend on the sidelines whilst clubs seventh through to tenth played it out for a spot in the eight.
Gold Coast (7th) faced Frankston Dolphins (10th) at People First Stadium on Saturday in a tight contest.
The following day, Williamstown Seagulls (8th) hosted Richmond (9th) at DSV Stadium, with supporters seeing a one-sided affair.

Gold Coast (100) def. by Frankston Dolphins (103)
A sluggish start from the Dolphins saw Gold Coast jump out to a four-goal lead at the first break.
However, it was to no avail as Frankston snatched the lead by half-time due to accurate kicking in front of goal.
The Suns wrestled the advantage back in their favour, claiming a 21-point lead heading into the final 20 minutes.
A five-goal to one final term saw the visitors run over the hosts, as a late goal from Frankston's Tyson Milne helped secure the victory.
Midfieldersย George Grey (one goal, 29 touches, eight marks and three clearances) andย Trent Mynott (29 possessions, seven clearances and nine marks) were instrumental in keeping the Dolphin's season alive.
Matt Johnsonย kicked three goals while pairs toย Sebastian Quirk, Thomas Murphy andย Noah Gown helped tick the scoreboard over.
As for the Suns, they'd be disappointed they couldn't capitalise in front of goal.
Brayden Fiorini was arguably their best, gathering 38 disposals, nine marks, six clearances and a goal in the defeat.
Sam Day slotted four goals whileย Jed Walter was busy with two.
Thomas Berry was a tackling machine, recording 12, while potential 2025 Pick 1 Zeke Uwland proved his readiness at the higher level.
Frankston will now enter the top eight as the eighth-placed side and will face the Southport Sharks in an elimination final.

A seven-goal to-nil opening term set up the game for the Seagulls, who didn't look back after quarter-time.
On their home ground, Williamstown was able to adjust to the tricky conditions better than Richmond, controlling the match from start to finish.
The margin continued to increase term by term until the final 20 minutes of the Tigers' season, managing to outscore the Seagulls by one point.
Jackย Tonerย was his usual, dominant self, collecting 30 touches, seven clearances, six marks and three goals.
Former Sunย Brodie McLaughlin kicked four goals in the final, while ex-Hawk James Cousins found plenty of the ball.
Riley Collier-Dawkins was tough in the contest as former Rooย Aiden Bonar was instrumental in defence.
