Adelaide have announced Chelsea Randall as their stand alone AFLW captain for the upcoming season.

Randall has been captain for what will now be a sixth season, having shared the role over the past four. She previously shared the role with star Erin Phillips.

She is joined in a new-look leadership group by Sarah Allan, Eloise Jones and Stevie-Lee Thompson.

Head coach Matthew Clarke said that the club was in a strong position leadership wise as evident by the class in the leadership group.

โ€œChelsea is the natural leader of our group and we are thrilled to have her lead for a second year as our sole captain,โ€ Clarke said.

โ€œShe typifies our culture with her selflessness, competitiveness and team-first attitude.

โ€œWe have so many strong, emerging leaders at our Club, and while not everyone has a leadership title, they still have the ability to influence the team and our environment.

โ€œTo see Stevie-Lee enter our leadership group is not only great recognition for her on a personal level, but also shows the great depth of leaders in our squad.

โ€œWe are excited for Stevie-Lee to take that next step in her career and we think she will add another dynamic to the group.โ€
