Adelaide have confirmed spearhead forward Darcy Fogarty has re-signed with the club until the end of the 2031 season, with the 25-year-old becoming one of the longest-signed players in the AFL.
Fogarty was noted to be nearing an extension with the Crows following the 2024 season - a campaign that saw the Portland junior boot a career-high 41 goals.
The big-bodied key forward took out his maiden club leading goalkicker award thanks to an uninterrupted year under coach Matthew Nicks, bringing his career goals tally to 158 from 102 games for Adelaide.
A key piece in the club's plans to return to finals in the near future, Fogarty - who was eligible for free agency next year - is now locked in at the Crows for the next seven seasons with his new deal.
“I love the Club and feel we are heading in an exciting direction,” he said.
“As a forward line we have built some great chemistry and it's been good to learn from some of our senior players, and now have the opportunity to pass some of that knowledge and experience onto others.
“No career is without its challenges and I feel like I've made some real growth in my first 100 games and I'm looking forward to seeing what the next 100 hold.
“I'd love to finish my career a one-club player, the Club has put its faith in me and I'm excited to repay them and continue the journey with my teammates.”
The deal for Fogarty sees him hold the longest contract at the Crows, while only Sam Taylor, Connor Rozee, Aaron Naughton, Noah Balta and Max King have longer deals across the rest of the competition.
“The growth we have seen in Darcy since being drafted, but particularly over the past two seasons, has been significant,” Crows list manager Justin Reid said.
“His ability to work up the ground, his contested marking and finishing as one of the more reliable set shots in the competition, make him a very important part of our forward line.
“He embraced the opportunity to step up as part of our leadership group this year and his form was recognised with a top-five placing in our Club Champion award.
“We are very obviously thrilled that he's committed his long-term future to the Club.”
Fogarty's re-signing comes after a busy player movement period for Adelaide, who acquired Alex Neal-Bullen, Isaac Cumming and James Peatling via trading and free agency.
