Adelaide's Matt Crouch has suffered a leg injury at training on Friday, with scans confirming that the Crow has a minor fibula fracture.
The club has confirmed that Crouch will not be required to undergo surgery for the injury, but will be assessed in the coming days to establish a timeframe on his return.
Crouch played 11 games last season after not playing a game in the 2021 campaign due to an ongoing groin injury. While there is no set time on Crouch's return, the Crows have confirmed that the injury isn't expected to be "too disruptive" to the 27-year-old's season.
Speaking through club media, High Performance Manager Darren Burgess said the club with further assess Crouch after the weekend.
“Matt will spend the weekend resting and we will review him again in 48 hours to assess the injury,” Burgess said.
“It's unfortunate timing because he has had a strong pre-season to date, but thankfully the injury should not be too disruptive to his season.”
Crouch wasn't the only concern to emerge from Friday's training session, with Jackson Hately finishing the session early due to a hamstring concern.
The Crows take on GWS in Round 1, scheduled for Sunday, March 19 at Giants Stadium.
