Adelaide coach Matthew Nicks says he is still weighing up the balance of the forward line as the four-pronged attack could be a reason for Geelong's heavy scoring on Thursday night.
The Cats managed to pluck away a victory after trailing by 30 points to kick off Gather Round, scoring 119 points in a terrific victory on the road.
The Crows, who impressed for the first three quarters, struggled to go with the speed of the visitors, failing to stop their scoring power.
It is the third week this season that the West Lakes club has conceded 90 points or more, keeping only St Kilda (72) and North Melbourne (78) under that mark.
Nicks said that the top-heavy forward line consisting of Taylor Walker, Riley Thilthorpe, Darcy Fogarty and Dan Curtain could be a contributing factor to the side's inability to "keep the ball in our front half", and will be looked at as the season progresses..
"It can (contribute) at times. But, other times, it stays in there, and we score," Nicks said in his post-match address.
"There is a balance with that, and we're aware of that. We know that some of the things that we really love about our forward line โฆ if we don't deliver the ball the way we need to and we're a little bit off, it can cost us.
"We'll keep backing that in. We believe that there's too many other areas at the moment โฆ if you look at tonight, it was mistakes in places where it's 'good luck'. A turnover 50m from your own goal, you're not stopping that very often."
The four talls combined for eight goals, but Geelong coach Chris Scott would be pleased in curtailing Thilthorpe and Curtain's impact.
Nicks attributed the poor decision-making in the final quarter as a key determinant of Thursday's result, suggesting that when the whips begin cracking, the Crows weren't able to go with the "mature" Cats.
"We actually just had that conversation as a group," Nicks said afterwards.
"It's a combination of things, unfortunately. Otherwise, we'd just nail it. At the moment, it's not really keeping the ball in our front half, so we're spending a bit of time under pressure. Then there's an execution piece to that as well.

"When the game's not necessarily going our way, or not on our terms, we seem to make more poor decisions. We turned the ball over tonight in some spots where it's just undefendable. But 100-plus points, that's a real work-on for us."
Nicks also backed in the call to play Izak Rankine despite coming off a five-day break with a bleeding calf.
Rankine was given the entire week to prove his fitness, and still contributed on the night, gathering 25 disposals and kicking two goals.
