An important Adelaide Crows pair are believed to have fallen victim to soft-tissue injuries on the verge of Christmas.

15-year Crows veteran Rory Sloane has reportedly sustained "a minor hamstring tear", while rebounding defender Wayne Milera is thought to have a "sore hammy" of his own, following a gruelling pre-season session in West Adelaide on Wednesday.

7News Adelaide's Josh Money reports the 33-year-old Sloane was limited to running laps around Richmond Oval after previously picking up a worrisome "minor tear" of his hamstring.

"Sloane was all alone running laps at Richmond Oval, on light duties after suffering a minor hamstring tear," Money reported on Wednesday evening.

Money stated Milera was consigned to a similar fate, though added the duo is "expected" to return to Crows training post-Christmas.

"Wayne Milera with his own sore hammy, failing to finish a session that had plenty of grunt," continued Money.

"They're both expected to be back after Christmas."

Sloane furthered his West Lakes tenure in August, penning a fresh one-year contract to extend his glittering career to a 16th season in 2024.

"I love where this club is heading, both on and off the field, and I'm excited by the growth we have seen this year," Sloane said upon signing on the dotted line almost four months ago.

"While we obviously train and play in an elite environment, I have often spoken about there being a local footy club feel about the place and it's what I love."

The seasoned midfielder played 22 games last year, representing his richest tally since his 22-game campaign in 2019.

Meanwhile, the 26-year-old Milera, who has battled injury throughout his eight-year tenure, managed a career-high 22 games in 2023 after just 12 outings in 2022.

The Central Districts product is contracted through next season at West Lakes.
