Adelaide veteran Matt Crouch is reportedly at the centre of a police investigation following an alleged incident involving a Port Adelaide fan in the moments after last Saturday's Showdown at Adelaide Oval.
A Port Adelaide fan is alleged to have had his hat knocked off his head by Crouch as Crows players exited the playing surface, with police seeking further assistance after receiving the complaint, according to 7 News Adelaide.ย
Broadcast footage captures the reported fan in question expressing his frustration toward Adelaide players and staff shortly after the alleged incident took place.
"Police have told me they are investigating reports of an assault at Adelaide Oval on Saturday night," reporter Josh Money said on Tuesday
"7 News has learned that as the Crows were walking down the player's race, star midfielder Matt Crouch came face to face with a Port Adelaide fan who was yelling over the fence.
"It's understood Crouch reacted by knocking the fan's hat off his head. While the incident itself wasn't caught by the broadcast cameras, the moment immediately after were. The fan involved can be seen complaining to Crows coaches and staff before putting his cap back on his head.

"Police today confirmed they've received a complaint today about an alleged assault and are pleading with anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward."
Adelaide have not commented on the matter.
The incident came following a fiery Showdown affair between the two South Australian clubs, with Port Adelaide star Dan Houston's bump on Crows forward Izak Rankine sparking widespread outrage.
Houston has since been handed a five-game suspension for rough conduct, while eight other charges were handed down by the Match Review Officer from the game - including a striking charge against Crouch.
Both clubs also released statements earlier this week condemning racism directed toward Power player Willie Riioli on social, while Port Adelaide's mascot was allegedly punched during Saturday's proceedings.
So…
A port “supporter” abuses someone – and then cries assault when his hat is knocked off.
Shows the character of the person – doesn’t it?
I wonder if his mummy made a special fluffy little soft bed for his hat to rest in…. with a band aid and a “kiss it better”, of course ….. next this favourite “Mr Men” books……
