Adelaide has reportedly asked former Crows star Patrick Dangerfield if he wants to finish his career where he started.

Dangerfield - who is from Moggs Creek in Victoria - was originally drafted to South Australia with Pick 10 in the 2007 National Draft.

Playing 154 games from 2008-2015, including three All-Australians (2012, 2013, 2015) and a Malcolm Blight Medal (2015), Adelaide has surprisingly asked the 34-year-old if he wishes to change colours once again, according toย Channel 7'sย Mitch Cleary.

"Adelaide has made an audacious bid to lure Patrick Dangerfield back to where he started," Cleary revealed on Monday.

"The Crows recently pitching the prospect of Dangerfield's age and experience being the perfect addition to the Crows' young list.

"Dangerfield spent the first eight years of his career as a Crow before leaving for Geelong at the end of 2015.

"This shows just how aggressive the Crows will be in the trade space this off-season.

"Dangerfield is a free agent, so a rival could land him for nothing.

"And while this approach to see him finish his career as a Crow will give him something to think about, the most likely scenario will be to remain at Geelong, where he's had preliminary extension talks.

"Dangerfield is currently rehabbing his second hamstring injury of the season, in a bid to get back after Geelong's Round 14 bye."

Since joining the Cats, Dangerfield has added five more All-Australian blazers (2016-2020), three Carji Greeves medals (2016, 2017, 2019), a Brownlow medal (2016) and a premiership in 2022.

The superstar is also the current captain of Geelong, taking over from Joel Selwood ahead of the 2023 season.
