Figures show that one in every 20 Australians is a member of an AFL club, with Collingwood and Carlton leading the way.
The two Victorian powerhouses may be out of the running for the 2024 premiership, but that hasn't stopped their fans from showing their support and recording new membership records.
Aside from the Pies and Blues, 11 other clubs also logged new highs, with the latter reaching the six figures for the first time in their history.

This year's unprecedented membership tally surpassed the all-time record of more than 1.2 million set last year โ a 4.3 per cent increase.
Of the total number of members, 241,410 are new club members.
Eight clubs achieved 10%+ membership growth on their 2023 tally โ Adelaide (10.1%), Brisbane (15.7%), Carlton (11.6%), Geelong (10.5%), Gold Coast SUNS (12%), GWS GIANTS (10.9%), Sydney (12.9%) and the Western Bulldogs (10.7%).
AFL chief executive Andrew Dillon said the record-breaking figure was testament to Aussies' passion for the game.
โFooty fans are the greatest in the world, and they have not only turned up in record numbers to games this season but have cemented their support by becoming members in record numbers,โ Dillon said.
The high level of support can also be seen in the competition's highest average attendance per game throughout the home and away season.
A total of 37,455 have rocked up to - on average - every single game in 2024, surpassing the tallies set in 2008 (36,996) and 2010 (36,908).
The 2024 campaign also saw a new total attendance record (7,756,268), eclipsing last year's feat of 7,474,684 fans, albeit with an extra nine games added to both fixtures.
