Both Collingwood tall Mason Cox and Brisbane defender Darcy Garinder have escaped suspension from the AFL over separate incidents during Thursday night's Round 5 clash.
The Match Review Officer instead opted to charge both players with fines for the offences.
Gardiner came under scrutiny for a late bump on Josh Daicos during the opening quarter of the contest, which was played at the Gabba.

Gardiner was seen arriving late to a near-uncontested mark for Daicos, bumping him from behind.
After being placed immediately on report for the bump on Daicos, Gardiner was handed a $3000 fine by the match review officer which can be reduced to $2000 with an early guilty plea.
The incident was assessed as Intentional Conduct, Low Impact, Body Contact, which saw the Brisbane defender escape suspension.
Cox, on the other hand, found himself in strife for a collision with Brandon Starcevich during the second quarter.
He leapt knee-first into a marking contest where Starcevic was placed under the ball. Cox arrived late on the scene, leaving Starcevich on the ground after receiving a knee in the back.
He was able to play out the match, however, the Match Review Officer still found reason to penalise Cox with a fine.
The incident was assessed as Careless Conduct, Low Impact, Body Contact, which also allowed Cox to escape with a fine.
It means that Cox will be able to line up for the Magpies next week against Essendon on Anzac Day, while Gardiner will take part in the Queensland derby on the Gold Coast against the Suns.
