AFL confirms week one VFL finals fixture following first-ever Wildcard Round

Two teams progressed from the league’s inaugural Wildcard Round on the weekend.

The AFL has released the confirmed fixture for week one of the 2023 VFL finals series, following the weekend's inaugural Wildcard Round.

The Casey Demons and Collingwood advanced to this year's finals series after defeating North Melbourne and Richmond, respectively.

The Demons are now faced with a matchup against sixth-seed Footscray, while the Magpies will play fifth-placed Williamstown in this weekend's elimination finals.

Werribee will battle Box Hill at Avalon Airport Oval and top-ranked Gold Coast will host the Brisbane Lions in a VFL Q-Clash at Heritage Bank Stadium in the two qualifying finals.
