2025 AFL Draft prospect Kalani White, son of former Pick 1 and Melbourne ruckman Jeff, is set to put his best foot forward during the upcoming pre-season, joining the Demons and Gold Coast training programs.

White is eligible for the 2025 National Draft and is already touted as a top-end pick, especially following his selection in the AFL Academy.

The developing ruckman is permitted to sign with Melbourne as a father-son selection, but also the Suns, given his place in the club's Academy.

His father, Jeff, who played 236 games for the Demons, spoke on SEN about his son's AFL prospects.

"He's coming down to Melbourne at the start of December to train with the Dees," White said.

"He's really looking forward to that, and then he gets to train with the Suns in January at some point.

"For him, he has a big decision to make. He's in a fortunate position where he can make a choice.

"We have three words that we'll focus on over the next 12 months: being healthy, hungry and happy."

White featured once for the Allies this year, managing six touches and a mark while averaging eight disposals and four marks for the Suns Academy earlier in the season.

His mobility is impressive at 198cm, and he seems to have found a home down back, where he was an Under 16 All Australian.
