Victoria made up 51 of the 86 players drafted onto AFL lists this week, dominating the 2024 intake after a strong year for both Vic Metro and Vic Country at the National Championships as well as other pathways in the football-centric state.

Of the 71 players from across the country who were selected at the National Draft, 43 of the prospects hail from Victoria, with South Australia having 11 and Western Australia having eight.

New South Wales had five and Queensland had three, with the ACT having one player selected across Wednesday and Thursday night's proceedings.

A further 15 players were recruited at either the Rookie Draft or as category B rookies on Friday, seeing the list of talent cover the Northern Territory also, leaving Tasmania as the only state unrepresented.

The lack of Tasmanians will be some concern for the state, who had a strong class last year and hoped to replicate their efforts ahead of the AFL's expansion to the island state.

Victoria's haul sees the state make up 59.3 per cent of this year's entire intake while having 20 of the first 23 players selected at the National Draft.

From a local level, Bendigo side Sandhurst led the way with three selections - seeing Tobie Travaglia and Oliver Hannaford taken in the first round before Archer Day-Wicks was picked up as a rookie.

Here is the entire state-by-state breakdown from this year's draft window, as well as each prospect's local club.
