Werribee premiership star Riley Bice and 2024 Fothergill-Round-Mitchell Medal winner Sam Davidson are among ten draft hopefuls who have been invited to conduct medicals by the AFL.
Bice enjoyed a breakout season with the Tigers in 2024, averaging 21.8 disposals, 6.9 marks, 2.7 tackles and 2.2 inside 50s per game as a slingshotting defensive outlet for the VFL premiers.
The 24-year-old was named in the VFL Team of the Year and fell narrowly short of claiming the Fothergill-Round-Mitchell Medal - awarded to the best-emerging talent in the competition.
That honour was handed to Davidson, who enjoyed a stellar season at Punt Road as part of Steve Morris' side - booting 26 goals from 16 games while averaging 14.4 disposals, 3.8 marks and 3.2 tackles this season for Richmond's reserves.
According toΒ News Corp,Β both Bice and Davidson are among a contingent of draft prospects who will undergo medical testing this weekend.
The invites suggest strong interest in the ten prospects, who will all take part in state combine testing on Sunday, from keen AFL clubs The medicals will take place at the MCG the day prior.
GWV Rebels teenager Oliver Hannaford is a strong chance to land at an AFL club in November, having played a major role in the Rebels' journey to the Talent League grand final.
Hannaford kicked 21 goals in his last nine games for the season, nine of which came during finals, including a six-goal haul against the Geelong Falcons in a qualifying final.
The ground-level threat has been a late bloomer in 2024 to gain the attention of AFL clubs after spending the opening half of the year in defence.
Falcons and Vic Country talent Xavier Ivisic is another strong chance to be picked up via the National Draft after a strong 2024 campaign.
The flashy wingman played in all four Vic Country games at this year's National Championships to average 22.3 disposals, 4.5 marks and 2.5 tackles per game.
