Victoria Metro midfielder and No.1 Pick contender Jagga Smith will make his VFL debut on Saturday for Richmond as he continues to build into his draft campaign.

After consistently performing in the U18 National Championships, standing out with his cleanliness, silky skills, elite running patterns, clearance wins and unselfish play going forward, Smith is set to test his game at another level.

The Oakleigh Chargers product finished as the top-ranked player of the tournament, averaging 29.3 disposals, 4.8 marks, 6.8 clearances, 6 score involvements and 135 ranking points, according to NewsCorp.

Like many before him who have plied their trade in the reserves competition in the lead-up to the November National Draft, the Victoria Metro skipper will get his chance in the yellow and black as the Tigers' 23rd player.

The highly-touted 18-year-old is renowned for his strong ball-winning ability, high footy IQ and work-rate, qualities that will be observed closely by recruiters, as well as the opposition, Williamstown Seagulls.

Joining Smith in featuring at VFL level is Gold Coast Suns Academy 2025 prospect Zeke Uwland and GIANTS Academy duo Josaia Delana and Logan Smith.

Uwland is the younger brother of current Suns defender Bodhi.

The trio have all featured in the reserves competition this year and will regain their place following the completion of the National Championships.
