A small forward who has shot up the ranks throughout 2024, Jesse Dattoli has impressed recruiters with his niche skill in front of goal.

Dattoli had a strong year and was impressive for the Northern Knights in the Talent League, averaging 23 disposals (11 contested), four clearances and 1.7 goals a game.

His focus coming into the season was to increase his capacity as a midfielder, adding more strings to his game that will be required at the elite level.

Dattoli also featured in the National Championships for Vic Metro, averaging 15 disposals and seven marks, as well as kicking three goals in his four matches.

He has been likened to Adelaide youngster Josh Rachele for his freakish goal sense and ability to push further up the ground.

Dattoli's versatility has him poised to join an AFL list on draft night as an impressive prospect who has a proven ability to accumulate possessions and hit the scoreboard.

Tipped to go late in the first round or early in the second, Richmond - like most players - will have a look at bringing him into the club, while Port Adelaide, the Western Bulldogs and West Coast are sides who could use his strengths.

Expert comments

"A crafty small forward/midfielder who can mark well overhead for his size and excel in big moments for his team. Is also a tough and courageous player with elite skills, including being an excellent set shot for goal." - Kevin Sheehan
