A 31-player Vic Metro squad has been named for the 2024 National Championships, with some of this year's leading AFL Draft prospects set to feature for the side over the coming months.

12 bottom-age prospects from last year's Vic Metro squad have been named, while seven members of the 2024 AFL Academy feature. Prospects Levi Ashcroft, Tom Gross, Taj Hotton, Harry O'Farrell, Josh Smillie, Jagga Smith and Luke Trainor represent both groups.

Ashcroft, Trainor, Smillie and Smith are all in contention as top five draft prospects for this year's count, with Ashcroft a father-son linked player to Brisbane as the son of Marcus and brother to current Lion Will.

The squad will also feature leading prospects Christian Moraes, Zak Johnson and Isaac Kako, with the latter a member of Essendon's Next Generation Academy.

The Sandringham Dragons make up more than a third of the squad with 11 selections, with the Oakleigh Chargers the next best represented with six. Dragons coach Rob Harding has been named as the coach of Vic Metro for 2024.

Two bottom-age prospects have been named in the squad, with Oakleigh Chargers talent Louis Emmett and Sandringham Dragons forward Archie Ludowyke both listed.

The squad can be added to prior and during the 2024 National Championships carnival.

Vic Metro's first game for the season will take place at IKON Park on Sunday, June 9 against the Allies.
