We've rated every single Brisbane Lion's performance in the 2023 AFL Grand Final.
Brandon Starcevich - 6.5/10
Was reliable and had some big fourth-quarter moments, but was tasked with taming Bobby Hill who was among Collingwood's best with four goals.
Harris Andrews - 7.5
Andrews matched up against Billy Frampton to start the game. There aren't a lot of tall options in that Magpies forward line and Andrews' opponent was given the role of taking care of the Lion's influence. The Brisbane co-captain had some big moments late when the game was on the line.
Darcy Gardiner - 6.5
Gardiner matched up against Brody Mihocek. Mihocek and Gardiner, both a bit undersized for key-position players, put in an even battle all evening.
Conor McKenna - 6.0
McKenna has proved to be one of the best acquisitions of last off-season, joining a Brisbane half-backline that also boasts lethal left-footer Keidean Coleman and physically imposing youngster Darcy Wilmot. The Irishman had just 13 touches but worked at nearly 500 metres gained.
Ryan Lester - 6.5
The veteran Lester has been a reliable role player in Fagan's backline. He managed 18 touches in the loss and rotated through a number of opponents.
Keidean Coleman - 9.0
Racked up a team-high 26 disposals, however, 22 came in the opening half as the Magpies managed to negate his impact after half-time. Was still among the Lions' best performers.
Hugh McCluggage - 8.0
Assisted the final goal of the game to bring the Lions back within four points thanks to some brilliance on the boundary. Again played something of a drifting half-forward in addition to his in-and-under commitments in Fagan's engine room to come away with two goals and three assists from 21 disposals.
Josh Dunkley - 8.0
Did a stellar job running with Jordan De Goey for most of the match. While the Magpies star had the last laugh, Dunkley was a threat in attack and defence.
Dayne Zorko - 7.0
The veteran utility was dependable across half-back for the Lions but probably wasn't as accumulative as he would've liked to have been.
Charlie Cameron - 7.5
The ever-threatening Cameron stamped his influence on Saturday's contest, booting three goals against Collingwood, including a late one to put the Lions ahead. Scored two goals in the second quarter after a first-term spent blanketed by Brayden Maynard.
Eric Hipwood - 6.0
Hipwood played a complementary role to Daniher and Cameron but didn't have a massive influence on the contest. Had good signs early but was held goalless from his 10 touches.
Callum Ah Chee (SUBBED OFF) - 5.0
Was replaced by Jarryd Lyons in the last term after managing just six touches. A highlight came in the third term with a nice assist to Deven Robertson.
Cameron Rayner - 5.5
Started the game well early but was held to just 11 disposals and no goals. Couldn't have the same impact he's had recently.
Joe Daniher - 8.0
Made a number of questionable choices early in the first quarter, capping a shaky start to his Grand Final. However, he steadied in the second term, taking a nice contested mark and kicking a set-shot goal from a tough angle to level the scores. Was among Brisbane's best performers to end his afternoon with three goals, eight marks and 16 touches.
Zac Bailey - 7.5
Bailey kicked a terrific goal to steady the Lions in the first quarter after the Magpies kicked the first two of the contest. He booted an amazing snapping goal, his second of the first quarter to get the Lions off to a hot start. Had a quieter second half and couldn't replicate the same impact from his opening term.
Oscar McInerney - 8.0
Influential to begin with his ruck work, recording 29 hitouts over Cox and Cameron. Was a big force in the middle with 10 clearances and his ruck craft led to several scores.
Lachie Neale - 7.0
Was closely followed by Tom Mitchell all day in what was a battle within the war. Had some good moments late to keep his side in the contest. Ended the day with 21 disposals, less than half being contested.
Jarrod Berry - 6.0
Gave up two 50m penalties, one leading to the match-winning goal for Steele Sidebottom in what'll be a moment to forget for the Lions onballer. Could only muster the 11 touches and recorded five clangers.
Deven Robertson - 6.0
Couldn't have the impact he had hoped for, failing to record a tackle and managing just 13 possessions.
Lincoln McCarthy - 8.0
Finished coolly from 50 metres out in the first quarter. Would boot two goals and assist another in what was a consistent four-quarter effort from the small forward.
Jaspa Fletcher - 6.0
Had some good moments late to cap off a promising first year, but unfortunately fell short. Had nine touches and from just 64% TOG.
Darcy Wilmot - 6.5
Not a standout by any means but certainly not a poor performance from the Lions sophomore. Had a dozen touches and applied good pressure when under the pump.
Jarryd Lyons (SUB) - 6.0
Didn't come into the game until after the fourth term was underway. Was a key chain in a couple of Lions scores late and would collect four touches in 17% TOG.
