“In fact, if he moved there now he might even be the premiership ruckman.” 🏆

Braydon Preuss must seek a trade to a premiership contender, according to Bombers great Tim Watson.

Preuss was traded to the Demons in 2018 but has struggled to break into the senior side, stuck behind Max Gawn and now emerging big man Luke Jackson.

But Watson believes he can and should be the number one option at another club.

“He should be somewhere else as the first ruckman, Braydon Preuss," Watson said on SEN.

"I’m not saying he’s the most cerebral big man out there in the game, I’m not saying he can jump over Nic Naitanui, but in terms of effectiveness and moving the ball and power he supplies around the ball, there’s not that many that can do that as well.”

Watson then proposed an ideal home for the 25-year-old.

"I’ve got one club right here ready to go. In fact, if he moved there now he might even be the premiership ruckman – Geelong," Watson said.

“I think he’s absolutely better than (Rhys) Stanley. Maybe not as athletic as Stanley, not able to jump like Stanley, but in terms of effectiveness of what they need, I think he would be great for Geelong.

"I think specifically for the needs of Geelong, what they would like to have is some presence in their ruck going into this finals series and Preuss is huge, he’s physical, he only knows one way to play and that’s in an aggressive manner."

“I think that would give them an edge that they currently don’t have. I wouldn’t be surprised if other clubs came for him at the end of this year and there’s still that conversation that he doesn’t have a big tank, I understand that, but for needs specific to certain teams, I think he would be a great fit.”
