AFL legend and long-time 3AW servant Gerard Healy will leave the station to join SEN in 2021, reportsย The Herald Sun.ย

Healy will still co-host 3AW's Sportsday program, but will no longer be contracted by Channel 9, who took over Macquarie media last year.

Healy started the Sportsday program at 3AW in 1994 with cricket legend David Hookes and has remained at the station since it started.

He has also been apart of 3AW's football broadcast and featured in a few Thursday games this season.

At the end of last year, Healy's co-host Dwayne Russell moved to SEN and was replaced by Sam McClure.

The change helped both 3AW and SEN, with spikes in engagement respectively.

Sportsday were able to gather a further 32,000 listeners and jumped from a 9.5 rating in a previous survey to 11.6, while SEN saw an increase with Russell leading the afternoon show, moving up from 1.5 to 3.6.
