Richmond and West Coast find themselves atop the AFL membership ladder once again as the league records another record year for club memberships.

Both the Tigers and Eagles have confirmed they have surpassed the 100,000 membership barrier this season, while Collingwood is likely to be in the same vicinity as they look to break their own six-figure record.

The 2023 tally of 1,198,833 memberships sees the AFL's club memberships total reach new heights in 30 of the past 32 years, with seven clubs already confirming they've broken their all-time membership records so far in 2023.

Brisbane, Carlton, Fremantle, Geelong, Melbourne, Sydney and the Western Bulldogs have reached memberships records this year, while Gold Coast, GWS, North Melbourne, Port Adelaide, Richmond and West Coast are closing in on new records.

Two clubs - Collingwood and Adelaide - have not disclosed their memberships total during 2023, while Brisbane has confirmed they surpassed their membership record set last year but have not detailed their running 2023 tally.

Both the Crows and Magpies are estimated to be closing in on their all-time memberships records if they are yet to do so.

The 2023 membership count is cut off as of August 31. A total of 5,811,157 fans have attended games across the opening 19 rounds of the season.

Zero Hangerย has accounted for approximately 1,082,042 memberships as of July 24, meaning 116,791 have not been accounted for. Several clubs have either not provided updates this year or have not updated their respective membership tallies in recent weeks or months.
