Harrison Jones will miss Essendon's Dreamtime at the 'G clash this Saturday night against Richmond, with the key-forward handed a one-match ban for a dangerous tackle on North Melbourne's Zac Fisher.
The incident occured in the second quarter of Essendon's 40-point win, when Jones chased Fisher down with a run-down tackle, the rough conduct coming from a late swinging dump and Fisher's head appearing to make contact with the ground.
The action was classified as careless conduct with medium impact and high contact, resulting in a one-match ban.
He will unfortunately miss Dreamtime at the 'G against the Tigers, one of the marquee events on the AFL calendar, unless Essendon choose to challenge the verdict, as they likely will.
North Melbourne forward Paul Curtis was also sanctioned for tripping Essendon's Ben Hobbs in the third quarter of the same match.
Curtis will be fined $1250 with an early plea, and $1875 should he challenge the call unsuccessfully.
The Adelaide Oval thriller between Port Adelaide and Hawthorn saw four charges laid down, two at the feet of Brownlow contender Zak Butters.
Butters was sanctioned $3125 for engaging in a first quarter melee, though he will likely escape with a $1875 early plea.
He was also handed a $10000 sanction for rough conduct on Hawthorn ruckman Lloyd Meek during the third quarter, the MRO grading the incident intentional with low impact to the body. An early plea will have him fined $6250.
Hawthorn livewire Jack Ginnivan was sanctioned for his part in the same first quarter melee, likely paying a fine of $1250.
Willem Drew was the final charge, the Power midfielder offered a $2500 early plea for rough conduct deemed careless, low impact and high on Hawthorn's Jai Newcombe.
