Brisbane forward Eric Hipwood has avoided suspension for a 'tunnelling' incident that has still earned him a rough conduct charge by the AFL's Match Review Officer.
The incident in question took place midway through the first quarter of Sunday's game between the Lions and Swans, with Hipwood colliding with a mid-air Nick Blakey as the ball bounced up into the air.
Blakey was flipped over Hipwood and landed awkwardly on the ground, however was able to play out the match.
The MRO viewed Hipwood's actions as careless conduct, low impact and body contact, resulting in a fine for the Brisbane tall.
Hipwood can accept a $1875 fine with an early guilty plea, or risk a $3125 fine by challenging the verdict at the Tribunal.
"How is that not a free kick?"

From the same game, Swans forward Tom Papely has been charged with making Careless Contact with an Umpire.
Papley has been slapped with a $5000 fine, which can be reduced to $3125 with an early plea also.
In Sunday's match between Fremantle and Melbourne, two players have also been charged with Careless Contact with an Umpire.
Fremantle's Nat Fyfe and Demon Alex Neal-Bullen can both accept $1250 fines with early guilty pleas. Unsuccessful challenges from either player would result in $1875 fines.
No other player was cited by the MRO from Sunday's action.
