The Western Bulldogs could enter their must-win clash against Geelong on Saturday night without the experience of veteran defender Taylor Duryea due to suspension.

Duryea has been handed a one-game ban for rough conduct following a fourth-quarter incident involving Eagle Jamie Cripps during Sunday's loss to West Coast.

The AFL's Match Review Officer graded the incident as careless conduct, medium impact and high contact after he was charged with rough conduct.

The suspension will mean Duryea will miss the Dogs' season-defining matchup with the Cats in Round 24 if the club fails in their attempt to challenge the charge at the AFL Tribunal.

Duryea and the Dogs will have their case heard at 6:30pm (AEST) on Tuesday evening following Swan Tom McCartin's hearing.

The Dogs require a win against Geelong to keep their chances of a finals spot alive, with the club also requiring GWS to lose to Carlton the same weekend.

From the same game, West Coast's Elliot Yeo has been handed, and accepted, a one-game suspension for rough conduct (dangerous tackle).

The MRO has graded the third-quarter incident involving Bulldog Jack Macrae and Yeo as careless conduct, medium impact and high contact.

Yeo will be unavailable for this weekend's clash with Adelaide after accepting the charge. West Coast were expected to accept the sanction after Yeo was ruled out of Round 24 with a hamstring issue.

Elsewhere, Port Adelaide's Zak Butters and Fremantle's Hayden Young have accepted $1000 fines with early pleas after being charged with careless contact with an umpire.
