Four players from Friday's match between Carlton and Port Adelaide at Marvel Stadium have been charged by the AFL's Match Review Officer.

All four charges fall under the 'Careless Contact with an Umpire' offence, and all are fines.

Carlton captain Patrick Cripps and Port Adelaide midfielder Willem Drew can each accept $1250 fines for third-quarter incidents.

If either chooses to challenge their charge, they risk a $1875 fine if unsuccessful.

Blues pair George Hewett and Adam Cerra are the other two players to be charged with making Careless Contact with an Umpire.

The charges are the second offences on both players' records, leading to increased sanctions compared to Cripps and Drew.

Both Cerra and Hewett can accept $1875 fines with early guilty pleas, or risk a $3125 fine via a Tribunal challenge.

There were no further players cited from Friday's action.
