Western Bulldogs defender Liam Jones has avoided suspension for a dangerous tackle on GWS forward Aaron Cadman during the Round 24 match at Mars Stadium, but the news isn't as good for a Carlton forward.
Jones has been charged with rough conduct by the AFL Match Review Officer, who has handed down a total of six charges from Sunday's action.
The incident involving Jones and Cadman occurred in the opening minute of the game in Ballarat, with Jones taking Cadman to ground with one of the Giants youngster's arms pinned while the other held the ball.
Cadman made forceful contact with the ground but was able to play out the match.
The MRO have graded Jones' actions as careless conduct, low impact and high contact, resulting in a financial penalty rather than a suspension. Jones can accept a $2500 fine with an early guilty plea or can risk a $3750 sanction by challenging the charge.
The outcome means Jones will be available for the Bulldogs' elimination final against Hawthorn next week, which will be the first final of the veteran's career and his 200th AFL game.
Meanwhile, Carlton's Matt Owies has been handed a one-game ban for a dangerous tackle on St Kilda's Jack Higgins.
The tackle has been graded as careless conduct, medium impact and high contact, resulting in Owies potentially missing his side's elimination final against Brisbane.
Matthew Owies has been offered a one-match suspension for this incident involving Jack Higgins.

The Blues will make a decision on Tuesday as to whether they'll challenge the charge.
Elsewhere, four players have been charged from the game between Fremantle and Port Adelaide.
Docker Nathan O'Driscoll and Power young gun Jason Horne-Francis can accept $1250 fines with early guilty pleas for careless contact with an umpire.
Fremantle's Sam Switkowski and Liam Reidy can accept $2500 fines for charges of tripping and rough conduct respectively.
