The AFL's Match Review Officer has handed down one charge from Thursday night's affair between Geelong and Melbourne, with Geelong's Tom Stewart hit charged for an incident involving Demons midfielder Jack Viney.
The incident in question gained scrutiny from the MRO, who charged Stewart with unreasonable or unnecessary contact with an injured player.

The charge comes with a grading of a fixed financial sanction, with Stewart handed a $1500 fine. The Geelong vice-captain can have that fine reduced to $1000 with an early plea.
The avoided suspension means Stewart will be free to face Sydney at the SCG next week.
Meanwhile, Demons forward Bayley Fritsch has avoided a charge for his dangerous tackle on Cat Jake Kolodjashnij.
The tackle was not cited by the MRO from their findings from the match.
