Port Adelaide forward Darcy Byrne-Jones could be facing a stint on the sidelines if he is penalised for a high bump on St Kilda's Ryan Byrnes on Sunday.

The Power small elected to bump a crouching Byrnes who was attempting to gather a ground ball, collecting the Saints defender high.

Byrnes fortunately has experienced no adverse effects from the knock, avoiding a concussion.

However, Byrne-Jones could still receive a multi-week suspension for his act, following the precedent set by Collingwood's Dan Houston on Thursday night.

Houston hit Fogarty with a high bump, and while Fogarty was cleared of a concussion, Houston still received a two-week suspension as the Match Review Officer graded the collision as careless conduct, high impact and high contact.

Even a grading of careless conduct, medium impact and high contact would see Byrne-Jones miss one week.
