Andrew Brayshaw and Bailey Banfield have both avoided suspensions for their contentious moments in Fremantle's narrow loss to Geelong at Optus, though Banfield can accept a $1250 early plea fine for his misconduct with Cat Zach Guthrie during the fourth quarter.

Brayshaw's collision with Geelong midfielder Tanner Bruh did result in a concussion for the young Cat, but with no apparent malice involved, the MRO opted against punishing the Docker star.

Eagles Harley Reid and Liam Duggan have been handed fines, for engaging in a melee in Reid's case, and for Duggan's strike on star shinboner Harry Sheezel.

Harrison Himmelberg was the sole culprit of any misconduct in the Giants' upset over Brisbane at the Gabba, striking Lion Cam Rayner in the final term of that clash and costing himself a $1250 early plea.

Three sanctions were found from Melbourne's meeting with Port Adelaide, Jason Horne-Francis and Harrison Petty both got involved in a third quarter melee while Power ruck Jordon Sweet can accept a $2500 loss for his love tap on Clayton Oliver.

Finally, 11 penalties were handed down from the heated Essendon vs Gold Coast thriller, seven for their part in a second quarter scrap including Mason Redman, Jye Caldwell, Ben Hobbs, Ben King, Alex Davies, Noah Anderson and Will Graham.

Match winner Mac Andrew copped a $1875 fine for a strike with a $1250 early plea, while each of Ben Hobbs, Matt Rowell and Sam Flanders can accept the same plea for their careless contact with an umpire in the final term of Gold Coast's win.

No other penalties were found from the day's play.
