The AFL's Match Review Officer has charged nine players from Sunday's action in Gather Round, with Fremantle's Paddy Voss handed a three-game ban for striking.

Voss has been charged with striking for a high swinging arm that collected Richmond's Nick Vlaustin in a tackle attempt.

The MRO graded Voss' actions as careless conduct, severe impact and high contact.

The ban will rule Voss out of playing in the Dockers' upcoming games against Melbourne, Adelaide and St Kilda, with the forward able to return in Round 9 against Collingwood.

Meanwhile, Voss' teammate Jaeger O'Meara and Richmond's Tim Taranto have both been charged with making careless contact with an umpire. The two players can accept fines of $1000 and $1875 respectively with early guilty pleas.

In the final game of Round 5, a total of four Port Adelaide players and two Hawthorn players have been handed charges.

Ollie Wines has been charged with rough conduct, with the MRO grading the incident involving Hawk Jai Newcombe as careless conduct, low impact and high contact. Wines can accept a $2000 fine - down from $3000 - with an early guilty plea

Kane Farrell can accept a $1000 fine for making careless contact with an umpire, with the sanction reduced from $1500 via an early plea.

All of Ollie Lord ($1000 with early plea), Blake Hardwick ($1000), Changkuoth Jiath ($1000), and Mitch Georgiades ($1875), have been charged with engaging in a melee/wrestle.

No other players from Round 5's Sunday matches were charged by the MRO.
