St Kilda's Jimmy Webster has been referred directly to the AFL Tribunal after being charged with Rough Conduct on North Melbourne's Jy Simpkin.
The incident in question occurred during the first term of Sunday's practice match at Moorabbin, with Webster jumping into Simpkin after the Kangaroos co-captain had disposed of the ball.
Webster collected Simpkin high, with the Roos player requiring medical treatment before being ruled out of a return to the game. North Melbourne expects Simpkin to enter the AFL's concussion protocols as a result of the incident.
Webster's actions have been judged as Careless Conduct, High Contact and Severe Impact by the MRO, resulting in a trip to the Tribunal.
The AFL is expected to argue for a lengthy suspension, potentially between five and eight matches.
The minimum three-game suspension will mean Webster is unavailable for matches against Geelong (Round 1), Collingwood (Round 2) and Essendon (Round 3), with following games to come against Richmond (Round 4), GWS (Round 5), the Western Bulldogs (Round 6) and Port Adelaide (Round 7).
The time and date of Webster's hearing is yet to be disclosed.
North Melbourne pair Tristan Xerri and Bailey Scott, as well as St Kilda's Liam Henry, can all accept $1,250 fines each with early guilty pleas after being charged with Engaging in a Melee during Sunday's game.
Failed challenges of those sanctions will result in $1,875 fines.
The same charge has been laid against Saint Rowan Marshall, who can accept a $1,875 fine with an early plea due to the charge being his second offence.
