Melbourne's Clayton Oliver is the only player to be charged by the AFL's Match Review Officer from Friday's game between the Demons and the Western Bulldogs.

The MRO has charged Oliver with engaging in a melee/wrestle following an incident in the opening quarter of the Demons' 51-point defeat.

Falling under a fixed financial sanction, Oliver's charge will see the Melbourne midfielder hit with a fine rather than a suspension.

Oliver can accept a $1250 fine with an early guilty plea, or risk a $1875 fine should he choose to challenge the sanction and be unsuccessful.

The sole charge from the MRO's findings means Oliver's teammate Ed Langdon has avoided a charge of rough conduct for his second-quarter tackle on Bulldogs ruckman Tim English.

It was seen that no provided explanation was necessary from the MRO.
