The AFL's Match Review Officer has handed down one charge from Wednesday night's affair between Richmond and Melbourne, with Tigerย Marlion Pickett avoiding a suspension for his strike on Clayton Oliver.
The incident in question occurred in the first quarter of the match and saw Pickett strike the midriff of Oliver, who was floored as a result of the hit, away from play.
The strike has gained the scrutiny of the AFL's Match Review Officer, who graded the incident as intentional conduct, low impact and body contact.
That grading has seen Pickett handed a $6250 fine, which can be reduced to $3750 with an early plea.
Having avoided a suspension, Pickett will be available for Richmond's Round 8 clash with Fremantle next Sunday.
Pickett will have until 12:00pm (AEST) on Monday to decide whether to challenge the charge.
No other players were cited from Wednesday's game.
