Star midfielder Tom Liberatore has been fined by the MRO for a strike on Lion Jarrod Berry in the Bulldogs' 43-point loss to Brisbane on Friday night.

The strike occurred in the opening stages of the match, when Liberatore looked to step in and assist teammate Marcus Bontempelli in dealing with Berry's run-with role on him.

A number of Bulldogs were seen targetting Berry off the ball at stoppages to free up their skipper, but it was Liberatore who was fined $1,875 for his conduct.

Should he opt against challenging the verdict, Liberatore will escape with an early plea of $1,250.

It worsens what has been a tough patch of footy for the hard-nut Bulldog, who had just returned from a lengthy sideline stint, recovering from disturbing concussion concerns.

The seven-goal defeat suffered in the match further amplifies the rough period for Libba.

No other incidents were cited to the MRO on Friday night.
