Sydney co-captain Dane Rampe can accept a two-game suspension for rough conduct following an off-the-ball incident involving Bulldog Lachie McNeil from Thursday's game at the SCG.

The incident in question occurred in the final five minutes of the opening quarter, with footage of the incident showing Rampe colliding with the back of McNeil in the middle of the field and some distance away from the ball.

The AFL's Match Review Officer has handed down a two-game suspension to Rampe for rough conduct, with the incident assessed as careless conduct, high impact and high contact.

That grading, if accepted by Sydney, will result in a two-game ban for the Swans defender, who can choose to challenge the charge at the AFL Tribunal.

Sydney will be required to come to a decision on whether to challenge the charge or not by Monday afternoon.

If accepted, Rampe will miss upcoming matches against Fremantle and Essendon, with a return then scheduled for Round 21 when the Swans face GWS.

No other players were cited by the MRO from Thursday's game between the Bulldogs and Swans.
