The AFL MRO has handed down five financial penalties after Saturday's AFL action, with all sanctions across the Adelaide-Gold Coast clash and North Melbourne versus Sydney encounter.
Brodie Grundy's striking action on Kangaroos ruckman Tristan Xerri in the first quarter has seen the Swans ruck handed the largest financial whack from the day, copping a $6,250 fine reduced to $3,750 with a guilty plea.
It was graded as intentional conduct, low impact and high contact, and given it is Grundy's third striking offence, the star Swan was presented a hefty fine.
Sydney's Nick Blakey and former Swan Jacob Konstanty can also accept respective $3,125 and $1,500 fines for engaging in a melee/wrestle in the first quarter, Blakey's larger due to it being his second offence of that nature.
Both can be reduced to $1,875 and $1,000 with early pleas.
In the Gold Coast match against Adelaide, stars Jordan Dawson and Matthew Rowell have both been fined for their third respective offences of careless contact with an umpire in the third term.
The fines stand at $5,000 but can be reduced to $3,125 with an early plea.
