Brisbane Lions midfielder Mitch Robinson is understood to have received a suspended fine by the AFL for making multiple middle-finder gestures during last Sunday's loss to Richmond.
During the Round 20 match, Robinson is noted to have 'flipped the bird' on two occasions, seemingly directed at Tigers fans.
While not gaining scrutiny by the Match Review Officer following the weekend, the AFL have since looked to penalise the 33-year-old.
According to 7 News' Mitch Cleary, Robinson has been handed a suspended sanction of $2000 for the gesture.
A similar incident involving Tigers superstar Dustin Martin occurred in 2019 in a game against GWS, with the three-time Norm Smith Medal winner fined $7,500 - with $5,000 of the fine suspended until the end of 2020.
Martin took to social media shortly after the incident to apologise for his actions.
"Frustrating one on the weekend !! I understand my reaction is not a good look for the game.. I apologise for my actions. Thanks," Martin wrote.
Robinson was omitted from Brisbane's Round 21 side to face Carlton at the Gabba on Sunday, however is the only listed emergency not to be playing in Saturday's VFL match between Brisbane and Werribee.
It will likely mean Robinson will be named as the Lions' medical sub to face Carlton.
Brisbane named two inclusions for the game, with defensive duo Brandon Starcevich and Daniel Rich coming into the team, with Robinson, Darcy Fort and Nakia Cockatoo omitted from the side that lost to Richmond.
