The Cats struggled to get into the contest against West Coast early, and despite fighting back to trim the margin to 12 points in the final term, they just couldn't hold on. Joel Selwood will be a nervous man on Monday following his report for elbowing Sam Mitchell.
4. Port Adelaide (+2)
Ladder position: 4th
Despite a 40-point win, the Power never quite shook the Lions all afternoon, and will now be without skillful midfielder Jared Polec for the next month after he suffered a hamstring injury late.
5. Richmond (-1)
Ladder position: 6th
Another day, another classic Richmond performance. The Tigers dominated the Swans in the opening quarter but still couldn't put them away, and were stung in the final term when Sydney just outplayed them in all areas of the ground. Once again however, it was another result that would have been much worse had Alex Rance not been there.
6. West Coast (+1)
Ladder position: 7th
In desperate need of a strong performance in front of their own fans, West Coast finally put one together in their 13-point win over Geelong on Thursday. Sam Mitchell and Elliot Yeo led the way, as the Eagles face a massive test once again this Saturday night against Melbourne.
7. Melbourne (+2)
Ladder position: 5th
The Demons have charged up the ladder over the past two weeks, and now sit in fifth position and are just percentage out of the top four. A massive 57-point win against the reigning premiers on Sunday was reward for effort for a strong month of performances.
8. Western Bulldogs (-3)
Ladder position: 9th
The Dogs are losing their way. Another poor showing sees last year's premiers slip to ninth on the table and have seen them win just one of their past five games. To make matters worse, Easton Wood and Jake Stringer are a chance to be looked at by the MRP for separate punching incidents.
9. Sydney (+2)
Ladder position: 12th
Sydney are flying at the moment, and are now just one game outside the eight after their come-from-behind win over Richmond on Saturday. They overturned a poor first quarter to steam home in the last, and the Swans are looking good.
10. Essendon (-2)
Ladder position: 8th
The Bombers enjoyed a week off in round 13.
11. St Kilda (-1)
Ladder position: 10th
Eight goals to two in the first half saw the Saints jump out to a 38-point lead at the half against North Melbourne, before holding on to record a 17-point win. Seb Ross and Leigh Montagna were St Kilda's best, as they continue to sit on the cusp of the eight in 10th place.

The Dockers enjoyed a week off in round 13.
13. Carlton (+3)
Ladder position: 15th
Two wins on the bounce for Carlton has Blues fans up and about, and why wouldn't they be after another impressive win. Bryce Gibbs starred on Saturday night and led his side to the 10-point win, with a massive game looming against Carlton on Sunday.
14. North Melbourne (-1)
Ladder position: 16th
The Roos couldn't stick with St Kilda in the first half and were simply outplayed, with skill errors by foot one of their leading problems once again.
15. Gold Coast (-1)
Ladder position: 14th
The Suns missed a massive chance to improve to a 6-6 record, after going down to Carlton on Saturday night. Tom Lynch failed to make an impact, and their season also took a blow after Michael Barlow broke his leg in the final quarter.
16. Collingwood (-1)
Ladder position: 13th
The Magpies enjoyed a week off in round 13.

The Hawks enjoyed a week off in round 13.

Ladder position: 18th
Brisbane stuck with the Power for most of the afternoon on Saturday, with Dayne Zorko once again leading the charge. Eric Hipwood added a couple of special goals in a solid performance, to showcase yet again what a talent he is.
