1. GWS (-)

Ladder position: 2nd

The Giants became the third side in history to play in back-to-back draws, after the Hawks came from behind to level the match in the final seconds. The result sees GWS slip back to second on percentage, although they are still looking like the best side in the competition.

2. Adelaide (-)

Ladder position: 1st

A massive win over the Bulldogs has moved Adelaide back to the top of the ladder, as the Crows were rarely troubled.

3. Geelong (-)

Ladder position: 3rd

A massive first half saw the Cats cruise through their clash with Brisbane on Saturday night, and it sees them close the gap to just two points on the Crows in top spot.

4. Sydney (+1)

Ladder position: 8th

Finally, the Swans have finished a round in the eight. Sydney smashed the Suns on Saturday night, and have set up a mouthwatering Sydney derby with the Giants this weekend. It's a huge test to see how they match it with the top sides.

5. Port Adelaide (+1)

Ladder position: 4th

Port Adelaide's drought against top eight sides is over, with the Power finally beating a top eight team with their sixth attempt. Charlie Dixon was massive with five goals and seven marks, and the Power surged into the top four once again.

6. Richmond (-2)

Ladder position: 6th

Horrible from start to finish. The Tigers were simply outplayed in every area of the ground on Saturday night, and were lucky not to lose that match by over 100 points. They'll hope it's a one-off, and they'll want to make Brisbane pay for it this weekend.

7. Melbourne (-)

Ladder position: 5th

Big win by the Dees. Despite being up two rotations on the bench for the entire second half, Melbourne were without captains Jack Viney and Nathan Jones and a host of other important players, but fought gallantly to hold off a desperate Carlton side in the dying stages.

8. St Kilda (+2)

Ladder position: 7th

A season-defining performance. The Saints were just too good for Richmond from the opening bounce, and have showed the rest of the competition it won't be easy to edge them out of the top eight.

9. West Coast (-1)

Ladder position: 9th

Not a good result for the Eagles. For a side who's away record isn't the greatest, they really need to start banking home wins for a chance to play finals.

10. Western Bulldogs (-1)

Ladder position: 11th

Luke Beveridge has a lot of problems now. The Dogs were poor again on Friday night against Adelaide, and if they fall further out of touch with the top eight, they might not be finals bound.

11. Essendon (-)

Ladder position: 10th

Essendon are hanging in to the finals race after beating the Pies, and are one of three sides who are just one win from the eight. As the draw opens up for the Bombers from here on out, they could be a player come finals time.

12. Fremantle (-)

Ladder position: 12th

Let's give this result the credit it deserves. This was a massive win by the Dockers. Ryan Nyhuis booted four goals in his debut including two huge goals in the final quarter, as Fremantle held on for a big four points.

13. Carlton (+1)

Ladder position: 16th

Another very spirited performance from the Blues. They lost both Patrick Cripps and Simon White for the second half, but kept with the Demons for the entire match, and it should be classified as another step in the right direction for Brendon Bolton.

14. Gold Coast (-1)

Ladder position: 14th

They were smashed by Sydney in another poor performance by the Suns, and it looks like they'll go another season without playing in their first finals series.

15. Hawthorn (+1)

Ladder position: 13th

The Hawks are coming. Maybe not hard enough for a push at a spot in the eight, but they're certainly going to have a big say in where teams finish on the ladder.

16. Collingwood (-1)

Ladder position: 15th

Surely, that has to be the end of Nathan Buckley. The Pies are 5-10 and in the bottom four, and a loss against the Gold Coast on Saturday would have to signal the end of his tenure at Collingwood.

17. North Melbourne (-)

Ladder position: 17th

North Melbourne had all the momentum in the second half yet couldn't put away Fremantle, which makes up think they've shut up shop for the year. It's going to be a long seven weeks before the season ends.

18. Brisbane (-)

Ladder position: 18th

Never really in the contest against Geelong, but Dayne Zorko still remains a shining light for the Lions. Has to be an All-Australian lock.
