The AFL has reached a verdict two months after beginning an investigation into footage of Richmond star Dustin Martin groping a woman during post-season celebrations in 2015, with the league deciding to take no further action.

The video in question was leaked to social media in late August, just days prior to Richmond's elimination final against Brisbane at the Gabba.

While no comment on the video was made by either Martin or Richmond, the AFL sparked an investigation into the matter.

“We have become aware of a video posted on social media," a league spokesperson told The Herald Sun at the time.

"We are seeking further information."

According to News Corp, the league has reached a conclusion after speaking to Martin, deciding not to pursue the matter any further.

It is understood that Richmond also spoke with Martin in regard to the dated footage, however opted not to sanction the three-time Norm Smith Medal winner.

Martin featured in the clash against Brisbane, a defeat that would end the Punt Road club's season.

2023 will be Martin's 14th in the yellow and black, having first joined the club as the third overall selection through the 2009 National Draft.

The 31-year-old was rumoured to be contemplating his future at Richmond this year, having been linked to a potential move interstate to join either a New South Wales or Queensland club.

Instead, the Tigers superstar decided to remain in Melbourne, now likely to see out his contract until the end of 2024.
