The AFL has confirmed the fixturing for Round 7 and 8 as part of their rolling announcements, with a Grand Final rematch scheduled for Friday night of the latter round.
Richmond will host Geelong at the MCG on Friday May 7, seven days after they face the Western Bulldogs to kick-off the Round 7 at the same venue.
Round 7 will also host the first Western Derby of the season, with West Coast and Fremantle closing out the round.
The Showdown will feature in the following week as the Power host the Crows in a Saturday night blockbuster.
The new fixtures have not allocated matches for Thursday nights, howeverย AFL.com.auย reports the league will remain open to returning to Thursday night timeslots following assessment.
