49 players have evolved into dual-position options for SuperCoach following the opening five rounds of the season.

In a move introduced this year, players who feature in a second position for at least 35 per cent of their game time across at least four of the five rounds will be permitted to gain DPP status.

Headlining the first wave of changes is popular Magpies rookie Nick Daicos, who is currently owned by 82.4% of teams. The midfielder will now be accessible as a defensive option, having played a role at half-back for Collingwood to start the season.

Daicos will be joined by skipper Scott Pendlebury as a MID-DEF DPP, with coaches set to turn their attention to the veteran Magpie - who currently boasts just the 1.7% ownership.

Similar to Pendlebury, Lions captain Dayne Zorko (0.3% ownership) and Melbourne wingman Angus Brayshaw (3.2%) have also collected defensive status to go along with their midfield option.

Richmond defenders Liam Baker and Noah Balta will be available to coaches as forwards, while popular Roos tall Tristan Xerri can now be selected as a ruck option after only being utilised as a forward for the opening five rounds.

Essendon rookie Nic Martin - who is currently in 65.8% of teams - can now be selected as a midfielder as well as a forward.
