Carlton have been linked with a play for in-form Saint Luke Dunstan.
Dunstan has had a career renaissance of late with his recent form catching plenty of attention in a contract year. Helping the pursuit of Dunstan is the fact he may not be entirely happy with St Kilda.
Tom Morris of Fox Footy reported on Saturday night that Dunstan was told at the start of the season that he wouldn't be playing senior football at all this year.
However, injuries and a strong body of work in the VFL has seen Dunstan return to the senior side and he has made an immediate impact. Morris says that Dunstan isn't close yet to a new deal at St Kilda with rivals starting to circle.
"Luke Dunstan was told in late March after Round one that he wouldn't be playing seniors at all this year," Morris said.
"My understanding is that he's not anywhere near signing a contract, there's already been multiple clubs that have inquired about his services. I think 2-3 year deals will be on the table from other clubs. He's in no rush to make a decision and other clubs think he is gettable."
Hawthorn great Jordan Lewis said the Blues would be a good landing spot for the contested ball winner.
"Carlton would be that side suited most to his services," Lewis stated.
Carlton have been linked with a play for Fremantle star Adam Cerra, who may seek a move home at the end of the season. That move could cost the Blues up to $650,000 a season, meaning a move for Dunstan would then be rather unlikely.
