Hawthorns forwards Tim O'Brien and Oliver Hanrahan face an anxious waiting game, with both players out-of-contract for next season with the Hawks yet to make a decision on their future.
High-flying forward O'Brien is eligible for free agency and has been a mainstay in the Hawks side in 2021, playing 19 games.
Hanrahan on the other hand will have to wait until after the trade period to find out where his future lies in the AFL, with an extension with the Hawks be put on hold further.
Fox Footy reporter Tom Morris spoke on the situation that the Hawks pair find themselves in.
"Tim O’Brien, who’s a free agent, is in limbo. He’s being made to wait to see when he’s going to get a new deal," Morris said on AFL Tonight.
"The other one is Oliver Hanrahan. He’s been told he’s likely to have to wait until the end of the trade period to know his future.
"It’s a difficult position for the players to be in, but it’s just part and parcel of the situation at the moment."
The 23-year old has been linked to Geelong and Gold Coast, with the rival clubs showing interest in the small-forward.
