There is a growing confidence that GWS midfielder Jacob Hopper will remain with the Giants for a further two years following positive discussions between his management and Giants footy boss Jason McCartney, according to the Herald Sun.
Hopper, 24, is off-contract at the end of the 2021 season after re-signing with the Giants on a two-year deal in 2019, and is a high priority re-signing after the departure of some big names such as Jeremy Cameron and Zac Williams at the end of 2020.
Hopper put contract talks on hold midway through the season to turn his focus on his footy, as the Giants look to make a push into a finals spot.

There were some fears at the time he could leave the club, with a host of rival sides circling the star midfielder at the time.
However, Hopper is said to be very happy at the Giants and a new deal could now be struck at the completion of the Giants' 2021 campaign, which adds on to the positive news that star midfielder Josh Kelly is likely to remain at the Giants beyond this season.
Giants coach Leon Cameron has previously spoken on the importance of Hopper to the Giants' system and how he is they type of player the club can continue to build around for years to come.
Hopper has put together a very solid season for the Giants so far in 2021, averaging 26.8 disposals per game, including 12.4 contested possessions and 6.4 clearances, and continues to remain a key figure in a potent Giants midfield.
In what is set to be an extremely important game in the context of the Giants' season, Hopper will miss their Round 21 clash against Geelong at GMBHA Stadium on Friday night due to concussion.
